Help and answers for scanning your library, reviewing results, and freeing up space safely.
Open Winnow, allow photo access (everything stays on your device), and tap Scan Library. In a few moments you'll see how much space you can recover across Duplicates, Similar, Blurry, Screenshots, Large Videos, and Bursts.
Open any category, select what you want to remove (the best shot in each group is already badged for you), then confirm everything on the review basket screen. iOS asks for one final confirmation before anything moves to Recently Deleted.
Yes. Winnow never deletes anything on its own. You choose every item, you confirm on the review screen, and iOS asks one more time. Everything you remove goes to the Recently Deleted album in Photos, where it stays recoverable for 30 days. Winnow cannot permanently delete anything.
Open the Photos app, go to Albums → Recently Deleted, select the item, and tap Recover. You have 30 days.
Free: scan every category, see your full storage breakdown, and delete exact duplicates and screenshots. Pro unlocks the Similar, Blurry, Large Videos, and Bursts categories, swipe review mode, and the smart "select all but the best" button. Pro is a single 9.99 payment, yours forever. An optional 4.99 per year plan exists for people who prefer subscriptions.
Go to Settings → Restore Purchases. Your Pro access is tied to your Apple Account.
Completely. Every scan runs on your device using Apple frameworks. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no ads, and no third party code. Your photos never leave your phone. See our Privacy Policy.
In Settings you can tune how aggressively Winnow groups similar photos. Stricter groups only near identical shots; looser catches more photos from the same scene. The new setting applies to your next scan.
That usually means your library is clean in that category. If you granted limited photo access, Winnow can only scan the photos you selected; grant broader access from the banner on the home screen to scan everything.
Yes. Winnow scans in small batches using tiny thumbnails, so it stays fast and smooth even on libraries with tens of thousands of photos. You can cancel any scan and results found so far remain viewable.
