Winnow Photo Cleaner ("Winnow") is built to be private by design. Your photos never leave your phone. This policy explains exactly how your information is handled.
None. Winnow has no account, no login, no servers, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We never see your photos, videos, or anything about your library.
Winnow asks for access to your photo library so it can scan for duplicates, similar shots, blurry photos, screenshots, and large videos. Every part of that analysis runs on your device using Apple frameworks. No image, thumbnail, or piece of metadata is ever uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere outside your phone. Limited photo access is fully supported, and Winnow only sees what you allow.
Winnow never deletes anything without your explicit review and the iOS system confirmation. Everything you remove goes to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where it stays recoverable for 30 days before Photos removes it. Winnow has no ability to permanently delete your photos.
The only network connection the app makes is to Apple's App Store / StoreKit, to offer and verify the optional Winnow Pro purchase. These transactions are handled entirely by Apple; we never receive your payment details.
A few small preferences (for example, your similarity sensitivity setting and whether onboarding is complete) are stored on your device only. Scan results live in memory and disappear when you close the app; nothing about your library is ever written to a database.
Winnow does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
