Plain Read Terms of Use

Last updated: 18 October 2026. These terms are in addition to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. The same agreement is shown in the app before first use.

What you read is yours to bring

Plain Read reads aloud text that you paste, open, scan or fetch from a web address. You are responsible for having the right to use that content and for following the terms of any website you bring an article from. ThrasherApps does not supply, check or endorse any content.

Speech and recognition can be wrong

Voices may mispronounce words, numbers, names and abbreviations, and text recognized from photos, scans and scanned PDFs can contain mistakes. Do not rely on Plain Read alone for medical, legal, financial, safety or other important information: check the original.

Listen safely

Do not let listening distract you while driving, operating equipment or doing anything that needs your full attention, and keep the volume at a safe level.

Plain Read Pro

Pro is a one time, non consumable in app purchase that unlocks an unlimited library and reading pages from the camera and photos. It is not a subscription and never renews. It can be restored on your other devices with the same Apple Account.

Provided as is

PLAIN READ IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. No guarantee is made that every file, page or website can be read, or that saved items can never be lost.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ThrasherApps is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for lost data or any decision made from content read aloud. Total liability shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the app and its in app purchases in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty United States dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so parts may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States. Any dispute shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.
