Plain QR is built to be private by design. What you scan stays on your iPhone. This policy explains exactly how your information is handled.
None. Plain QR has no account, no login, no servers of its own, and no analytics, advertising or tracking code. We never see what you scan or make.
Plain QR uses the camera only to read codes, using Apple frameworks on your device. No camera image is stored or sent anywhere. When you scan a code from a photo, you pick that one picture with the iOS photo picker; Plain QR cannot see the rest of your library. If you save a code you made, Plain QR asks to add it to your photo library and cannot read your photos.
Your history is stored only on your device. You can turn history off in Settings, delete single scans, or clear it all from the History tab. Deleting the app deletes the history.
Plain QR makes only these connections:
When you add a contact or a calendar event from a code, iOS shows its own screen and nothing is saved unless you confirm it there. Plain QR does not read your contacts or calendar. When you join a Wi-Fi network from a code, iOS asks you to confirm before joining.
Plain QR does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised policy here.
