By downloading or using Offcut: Video Storage Cleaner ("Offcut"), you agree to these terms and to Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Offcut scans the videos in your photo library on your device and groups them into categories: screen recordings, duplicates, long clips, slow motion, edited videos, and the largest files. It helps you review those groups and remove the ones you choose.
You are always in control. Offcut never selects anything on your behalf. Nothing is removed without your selection, your confirmation on the review screen, and the iOS system confirmation that follows.
Videos you remove are moved by iOS to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where Apple keeps them recoverable for 30 days. After that period the Photos app removes them permanently. Offcut has no ability to delete anything permanently and no ability to recover anything after Photos has cleared it.
If iCloud Photos is enabled, a video you remove is removed from iCloud and from your other devices signed into the same Apple Account. If you use an iCloud Shared Photo Library, removing a shared item affects the other participants. This is how iCloud works and it is outside Offcut’s control.
Please review your selections carefully. You are responsible for what you choose to remove.
Offcut identifies duplicates by comparing file size, pixel dimensions and duration, and identifies screen recordings, slow motion, time lapse and edited videos from the information iOS reports about each item. These are aids to speed up your review. They are not guarantees, and two different videos can share the same size and duration.
Where Offcut groups copies together it suggests one to keep and does not allow that suggestion to be selected for removal, so a whole group cannot be removed in a single action. You should still confirm each selection yourself before removing anything.
Storage figures shown in the app are estimates based on what iOS reports. Actual space recovered depends on iOS, on iCloud, and on when the Recently Deleted album is emptied.
Offcut Pro is available as a one time lifetime purchase or as an optional monthly or annual subscription, billed through your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled at any time in your Apple Account settings.
Purchases can be restored on any device signed into the same Apple Account. Screen recordings and duplicates are free and remain free. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by ThrasherApps.
Use Offcut only on a photo library you own or are authorised to manage. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app, and do not use it in any way that breaks the law where you are.
OFFCUT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ACCURACY. No guarantee is made that the app, its detection, or its storage figures are accurate, current or complete.
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. Offcut is not a backup tool and does not keep a copy of anything. Before any bulk removal, make sure you have a backup you are happy with.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ThrasherApps is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use of the app, including loss of videos you chose to remove, whether after the 30 day recovery window has passed or as a result of iCloud synchronising that removal to your other devices.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the app shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the app and its in app purchases in the twelve months preceding the claim, or fifty United States dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from any claim, liability, damage, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the app, your reliance on its output, or your breach of these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
These terms are presented in the app as a user agreement that must be accepted before Offcut can be used. They are in addition to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to furnish any support for the app.
We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest revision. Where a change is material the in app agreement is shown again. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms.
