Offcut collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server. Your videos never leave your phone.
Offcut asks for access to your photo library so it can read the videos in it. Reading happens entirely on your device. Offcut reads each video’s size, dimensions, duration, creation date, filename, favourite status, and the flags iOS reports for slow motion, time lapse and edits. It does this to sort videos into categories and to find copies.
You may grant access to your whole library or to selected videos only. If you choose selected videos, Offcut can only see what you picked, and it tells you so.
Nothing. Offcut has no server, makes no network request with your data, and contains no third party analytics or advertising software development kit. There is no mechanism in the app by which a video, a thumbnail, a filename or a scan result could be transmitted anywhere.
Scan results are held in memory only and are discarded when the app closes. The only things written to the device are your own settings: the long clip threshold, whether Pro is unlocked, and the version and date of the user agreement you accepted. These stay on your device.
Purchases are processed by Apple. Offcut asks Apple whether a purchase exists on your Apple Account and receives yes or no. ThrasherApps never sees your payment details, your Apple Account, or your name. Apple’s privacy policy governs that transaction.
Offcut is not directed at children, collects no personal information from anyone, and therefore collects none from children.
Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing to request, correct, export or delete. Revoking photo library access in the iOS Settings app stops Offcut reading anything at all. Deleting the app removes its stored settings.
