Head Pain Journal is built privacy first. All of your health data stays on your device and never leaves your phone. This policy explains exactly how your information is handled.
None. Head Pain Journal has no account, no login, no servers, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We never see your migraine logs, symptoms, triggers, medications, notes, or anything else you enter. The App Store privacy label for this app is "Data Not Collected."
Every attack you log, along with symptoms, triggers, pain locations, relief actions, notes, cycle entries, saved medications, and settings, is stored only on your device using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData). The app does not transmit this data anywhere, and there is no cloud sync.
Connecting Apple Health is entirely optional, and the app is fully usable without it. If you grant permission, the app reads sleep, heart rate, and menstrual cycle data only to compute correlations and cycle phase on your device. This data is read only. The app never writes to Apple Health, and it never transmits your Health data anywhere. You can turn this off at any time in Settings or in the iOS Health app.
The only network connection the app makes is to Apple's App Store and StoreKit, to offer and verify the optional Pro purchase. These transactions are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your payment details.
If you turn on the optional daily check in reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. No notification data leaves your device.
The doctor report (PDF) and the full data export (JSON) are created on your device and shared only where you choose, through the standard iOS share sheet. Nothing is uploaded by the app.
Head Pain Journal does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
You can delete everything at any time from Settings, Delete all data, or by removing the app from your device.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised policy here.
